Canto I / ROSARY NOVENA FOR GENDER TRANSITIONINGVideo and sound screenings, 21'35''

"If my 2003 album Lovebomb was an attempted deconstruction of the love song, Soulnessless could be summarized as an attempted deconstruction of soul music". (Terre Thaemlitz)
Canto Idraws parallels between spiritual deprogramming and gender deprogramming. The video questions the fusion of ideology and industry behind SRS, as well as expresses concern about how the essentialisms underlying medical transitioning procedures result in a new cult of gender identity.

Performance extracts from People in the Sun, 2014 and Ymages et Personnages, 2011-2016, 30', followed by a conversation, 7:30–8:30 pm, Prevelakis Hall
Wolfgang Prinz and Michel Gholam have worked together since 2001 as Prinz Gholam. Together they have developed a performance practice reminiscent of tableaux vivants to represent the visual unconscious and the vast archive of images it contains. Objects and bodies are placed in confrontational situations through the interaction of material and dance movements. Their performances focus on the ways in which we envisage the world through images derived from art history and the media.
